Favorite track: Ulvsblakk.

David Fischer It was about time to add Kveldssanger to my bandcamp collection, as it is an absolutely essential neofolk record I enjoy highly. While I rarely roam outside the metal territory nowadays, I sometimes feel the urge for something different and Kveldssanger hits that spot precisely. Ulvsblakk may well be my favourite non-metal song of all time. Still, as another commenter already pointed out, this album is absolutely black metal in attitude and spirit. Ulver's creative work is impeccable. Favorite track: Ulvsblakk.
Shanti thumbnail
Shanti Evokes the sadness of a soul blackened by the cry of melancholy, sings with eloquent despair, the chronicle of a death announced by the voices of a singer experienced in the secrets whispered by grave stones within deep forests, where only moss knows where the decline of simple life hides, austere abode of incarnate death, the miserable life inspires indifference when listening to the true tragedy that ulver narrates in this pious chapter. + Kveldssanger + Songs of the night. Favorite track: Al Capella.

Was Ist Das? The first indication that Ulver were going to be unpredictable best is this, their 2nd album. Pure dark folk, drenched in sorrow and remote woodlands. It's totally black metal in attitude Favorite track: Kveldsang.

Gabriel Tamas There's not much that can be said about this record that hasn't been said before, since its creation, many years ago. A masterpiece of Black Metal that was a pioneer in what was the beginning of a revolution in the genre and its evolution. Kveldssanger is perhaps among the most notable shots at originality, departing visibly from the Black Metal roots, yet somehow being one of the most Black Metal soundscapes ever created. Through this album Ulver reached the first in many milestones. Favorite track: Kledt I Nattens Farger.
